Greetings!

This wraps up the weekend. Randall pointed me to the rocker shaft and arms. Found a broken tension (sheer) pin. Found another that looked iffy, so replaced it as well. Pretty rusted in. Plenty of liquid wrench and I basically destroyed a carbon steel blunt tip pin driver. But, hey, I have working hydraulics on both sides. Took off the mower deck and put on the snow plow. Thanks to all who have shared their knowledge.

Hi Folks,

Forgot to mention, the front hydraulics that swing the snow plow are not working. No apparent leaks. I get a little push back when I push on the hydraulic piston attached to the plow, but not much. This is nothing urgent. I can use a pin and swing the blade manually, but I travel for a living and the easier I can make this for wife and kids the better. Any ideas on where to start with this next challenge? I'm guessing the snow plow has not been used in a long time. Next weekend I would like to get the snow plow working fully and move onto the snowblower.

Hey Tedd........Do you have the countdown to PD yet. I got the green light from the wife, now I have to see what work brings.

And yes Charlie, I'm getting excited. Had a "Primer" PD yesterday. LETS GO!!!!

Charlie, looks like my end still works ok. Thanks for the advice! JB

Digger.
I inspected the set screws I took out of the PTO and found that 2 of them did not come completely out. The locking screws came out ok with the allen wrench but the inner ones needed to be easy-outed. 2 of these split and left the bottom half of the set screw still in place. I need to drill these. Then I will get my pry bars ready.

I have a K301 that I've had for several years it came in a 125 that I had bought for parts. This was supposed to have a broken rod in it. I intend to have it rebuilt this winter so I needed to tear it down to check for internal damage. I figured I'd pull off the shrouds and remove the head to have a look at it from the top down. Well when I removed the head I was surprised by what I found. Anyone seen this happen before?

The cylinder does not appear to be damaged or scratched. The piston top does not have any numbers stamped into it at least that I can find. And, yes, I did scrape of some carbon.

Hey Kraig now you have an educational photo on how the top is attached on a piston (haha). Never saw one do that.
