Plow Day Announcement:

Looks like the beans will come off within the next 4-10 days...they look like pretty good beans too, but suffered some hail damage (13%) last Friday.

Charlie made a good point the other day....I had completely forgotten to mention the door prize situation. There will be a door prize drawing, just like all of the past years. If you have a door prize to donate, please bring it along and add it to the door prize table at registration.

Door prize donations are Free Will and are not solicited, so don't think it has to be a big production, it's as simple as "I brought these for the door prize".

I just heard that these will be on the prize table....

Friday night plowing will be at a smaller field about 3/8 mile north of the main field. We will all assemble at the main field, then caravan down for the night plowing, make 2-3 rounds and then caravan back. If you plan on night plowing, please try to be as prepared as possible for plowing away from "home base" (fuel up, bring wrench, etc.) It would also probably be good to get there at or before 5:30-6:00pm to allow time for unloading, etc.

After the Friday evening plowing we will have food, probably stew and/or chilli, and some time for BS'ing etc. at the farm.

The local 4-H will have the food stand as in years past and there will also be a donation can to help offset the costs of the porta potty, etc.

Please register if you plan to attend, and we look forward to seeing you all on the 21st.

Sorry guys, but others call on my time.

Meeting at Rochelle Petro.....dining time at 5 AM???? Any other suggestions??? Mendota??? Post here now....

I sure would like to meet up with some of you guys for some breakfast at the petro. I wasn't able to make it last time, but hopefully we will have a nice smooth morning and be able to get out there nice and early this time. I know that I'm gettin ready to do some plowing. It is killing me being away at school and far away from my cubs, knowing that I still need to change out tires, put weights on, get the plows set, and rebuild the carb on the 1650. But come the 21st we'll be ready.

Steve and All, our Plow day lineup took a hit last night when my son Pat broke his leg at the last football game of the year. He had surgery late last night and it's pretty bad. If he can, I'll try to get him on my 782 for a round or two. For those who know Pat, you know this is killing him. If I bring his 73 down would some of you guys make a round on it for him? He would think it was pretty neat. Thanks. Glen

Steve- Hoping to make it to yer plow day but it is too hard to call as of right now with the work situation. Mark me as questionable at best.

Things are shaping up for a great Plow day.

I hope next saturday is as nice as today.
I've been getting ready to plow, can't wait.
The 1200 I'm bringing has not been run for 3 years. It needs some serious exercise.

It has been 2 years since I got a Cat 0 three point for the 1572 and haven't used it yet.
Maybe I can borrow a Cat 0 plow to try it out.

***PLOW DAY 12 Information!!!!***

We spent most of the day getting ready for PD12.

There will be a few changes to the field layout and plans from previous events, so please read the following to help avoid confusion next Saturday.

Field Layout:
your_image.gif

RED - These areas will be headlands and driveways and are NOT TO BE PLOWED. This is different than the past. We will be breaking up the field into east and west halves to help fix a problem we had with access to the north end of the field durring the middle of the day.

YELLOW - Set-up and Trial Area. (Start thru 10:00 AM) Please only plow here if you need help setting up and getting started. This area will be open for anyone to plow in after 10:00 AM.

BLUE - Parade Lap. Please Do Not plow here until instructed to do so for the parade lap.

BLACK - OPEN PLOWING. (Please don't plow thru the center headland)

ORANGE - Parking

GREEN - Registration

PINK - Food

Note: All of the headlands will be marked with shallow furrows, this is you signal to raise the plow.

This sketch outlines the area around the buildings.

WHEN YOU GET THERE.....

After you park your truck/trailer, PLEASE go to the REGISTRATION AREA, read the rules (also on the website), sign-in, and get your door prize ticket. It is very important that you sign in and note that you have read the rules, etc. before you get to the field.

RAIN DATE....

IF (let's hope not) there is a need for a rain date, the "final call" will be made by 5PM Friday and announced here.

As always, if you have questions please email me and we'll get them figured out.

All of the Bluniers look forward to having you and I'm sure we will have a great time!!!!

*** FRIDAY NIGHT PLOWING ***

Final details for the Friday Night "Night Plowing" at PD12.

Plowing will be offsite at a field approx. 1/4 mile away.

We will be driving down to the field in a caravan, will plow for 1 hour, and drive back together.

The caravan will leave from the REGISTRATION AREA at 6:15 PM Friday night, please don't be late. Please have you tractor fueled up, adjustment wrench with you, etc.

We will plow from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM and then caravan back. We will have a safety escort and a "breakdown" truck in the field to help make this whole process go safely and smoothly.

When we return (at Approx. 8:00 PM) we will have a bon-fire and meal. Chilli, cheese/crackers/sausage, chips, tea, water, etc. If you have a beverage of choice you can bring it along. There will be a free will donation for the food.

PLEASE remember to bring a LAWN CHAIR for the post plowing BS session/meal.

The bon-fire will be located in the parking area (garden plot, south of the house).

I know I already asked for a "email roll call" for Friday night, but many poeple have changed their minds, etc. Please RSVP with a simple note if you plan to be there Friday so that my wife and mother can make sure to have enough food.

This should be a really good time, and we look forward to seeing everyone.

Seeing as how we are just a couple of days away from plow day, how about some pictures to get everyone ready.

John,

Looks good, I hope to get loaded on Friday during the day, being away at school kinda puts a damper on doing anything in advance...oh well. The tires on the back of your 782, how do you like them. I had a guy running them on a ZT mower up here and he says they provide good traction without tearing up the customers lawns. I'm interested to see how they work in dirt conditions. They look good
