What brand/type of oil to use????

I pulled the oil pan off my 1250 this spring (after 15 years) to replace the gasket. Could not believe how clean the motor was inside, looked like the day I put a new rod & piston in back then. MOBILE 1 (after break in) all the way baby!!

Did I mention that I use 1/2 a quart of oil all summer mowing.

I think you guys are on the right track. I just started using synthetic and it works great! I have a engine that had a slight knock,the synthetic oil took it away!
