Bryan, I didn't see your post with the dates until after I found the pictures.
 
That was the Cub that got unloaded off the trailer at about 70 MPH..... It really doesn't look too bad. Hood, Grill, front wheel & tire. I saw a green tractor on I-94 on the way to work sitting in the median, lawn tractor, not L&G tractor. Largest piece of that tractor was "Pocket Size" except for wheels/tires.

Steve B.- I'd say he was in the 5" deep range (but I don't have that heavy dirt like you do

He was running w/o coulters because of the trashy conditions, so I'm sure that it would have had a nicer furrow with the coulters on, but I would say it wasn't any worse than what the other plows were doing (running w/o coulters), so the furrow wall was a bit ragged. Anyway, it was a neat outfit to see run. I also saw it in use back in August, and at that time he was running 23" tall tires (with duals), but was under weighted, so traction was a problem. It also hurt then that the ground they were running in had also been disked and really needed some rain to firm it back up. He is now running 26" tall back tires with quite a bit more weight (fluid filled plus one Cub and one JD weight per wheel).

Does anyone know when Hanks book gets shipped? A buddy of mine has a birthday coming, and wanted to know if it would come before then.

Did a little diggin around the 149 blower tractor today.
I couldn't understand why at low idle, when I raised and lowered the lift handle, the RPM's would change!
The screw fell had fallen out of the throttle cable mount on the engine, so they wrapped it around the lift cylinder, LOL

When I changed the rearend oil in my 122 over the weekend it came out milky white, I let is sit in the drain pan for a couple of hours and did not notice any water in it as I dumped it into my oil collection can.
I wounder what type of oil the PO had used in it.
I only found a little bit of metal fileings on the bottom of the case when I wiped it out.
I know I should have used Hy-Tran oil to fill it back up, but the only oil I had handy was hydraulic oil that I use in my loader.
I was told that this hydraulic oil is better than Hy-Tran in the aspect that it stays thinner in the cold weather.

The color will be tinted by whatever color the original fluid was. Milky white or off white is prolly motor oil.

And Hytran is PLENTY thin in the winter. Easy shifting at 0 degrees on my Simplicity proved that.

I know I should use Hy-Tran in the rearend, however I thought I would give this hydraulic oil a try since it is what I had handy.
I will be purchasing some Hy-Tran the next time I get down to the Case/IH dealer in Osseo. For I want to change out the oil in my 123 next spring befor I use the loader next year. Kind of figure it to be a good idea to change the oil and filter every spring on the 123 due to the rough service it gets useing it as a loader tractor during the year.

I found out today that my high ride 122

does not work so good doing garden work with the tall tires. It travels to fast in second gear and to slow in first gear to be effective, and the increased heights makes for a rough ride going across plowed ground.
On a posative note it will travel at a 5 minute mile which I belives works out to 12mph.

Use Hy-Tran in the loader hydraulics as well.
