I have a 100 and it still runs after the key is turned off. Everything is wired correctly. I think it may be a grounding problem.

Make sure on the wiring.

Put a new ignition switch in. Most are 60 years old and worn out internally. Remove the battery so you can get to it. Meantime, you can add full choke to stop the engine.

Can you throttle up after you turn off the key? If not is it maybe a starter or regulator malfunction

Tom, please let us know how you isolated the problem so I can learn from what you did. Not sure I understand how that worked and it will help me tremendously. I often fix things but don't know what I did! Thanks.
