Hello,
I am new here! My faithful 382 hydro's transmission just stopped working the other day. I drained the fluid (thinking that I should change it anyway) and noticed that when I opened the cap under the seat, there is still fluid in there. Do I need to depress the towing lever to get the pump to release that extra fluid?
OK so that's the next problem, that linkage broke this spring so I have to depress that directly on the pump, but it's also stuck. Any suggestions?
So once I have the fluid changed, I have a feeling that my transmission wouldn't magically come to life (although that is what I am hoping for). Someone suggested that I check for a whining noise (meaning that it's connected and trying) or quiet (meaning that there is something wrong in the mechanical linkage to the transmission even though at first glance it all looks good). Does this sound like good advice or it is way-off?
Thanks for any suggestions or tips. Mimi
