I have a 106 10 hp that runs but run in gear only, can not change gear without stopping engine. Seems like clutch /brake are froze. When I put it in neutral and lock clutch / brake and start engine, it begins to smoke. Something stuck. Don't want to get tid of it, don't make them like that anymore. Thanks for your help

Start digging around looking for broke stuff. This gives you some ideas on what things should look like. If it's been setting for a long time, it might just be a stuck clutch or broken spring. Cub Cadet FAQ

Got any pics of that 106? Definitely do not get rid of it.
Crawl underneath and take some pics of the drive shaft and clutch. We might be able to ID some of the issues.
Charlie can hook you up with the needed parts. (y)
