I've removed the adjusting screw and pushed the brake lever as far rearward as possible, but still can't get the shaft out so it can swing forward and I can remove the hydro.
You have to remove the pin 6 that holds the brake lever in place 7 after you take out the brake puck adjuster bolt. Have a look at Art A post and you can see where the pin holds the brake bracket .
You will need some heat on the pin to get it out . Mine was rusty.
Norm-
Yes, I had to use a punch with a BFH to get #6 out. As with anything rusty, use PB-Blaster or your favorite soaking agent, and once it starts to move, go to the other side and push it back through. The cast iron "arm" has a tendancy to rust-fast to the steel pin (#6).
Question to all-
Does anybody know what LENGTH button-head screws (5/16"-wide) should be used to replace the rivets when swapping ring-gears in a cub trans?
My memory ain`r what it use to be but 3/4 " comes to mind. Matt G or a few more I know have changed out the rears form the 82`s to cast rears.
I will find out for sure !
Cub 149 QUESTION/HELP! I was using my 149 (with snow blade and the correct length lift rod)to move some snow yesterday and all of a sudden the blade only lifts about 1/2 inch off the ground. The hydraulic lift seems to be working ok when I removed the inspection cover. What would cause this? So weird.
I did hit a manhole pretty hard and accidentally had the lock engaged on the top of the blade and was thrown forward a little bit. Maybe this caused my problem???
