You need to mount that on the 1450 with the big meats. Looks tough then.

I took my camera from the a/c to outside to shoot the the newest original and did not think about the humidity fogging up the lens.

Anyway here is the Original that is unrestored.

It is running in these pictures.

Frank M. That is one very nice condition Original. Nope. I'm not hiding your "D" here. Right now mine is giving me fits with fuel problems. I must have some contaminants in the tank. Good thing I have the 125 as a back up. If'n I felt better then I'd put the deck on it and finish the lawn. It would be neat to have a cab on another tractor other than the MF10. Soon I'll have three Cubs with blades and maybe one with the optional mountings for a Sears snowthrower to fit a Cub Cadet. I gotta get my angle blade painted and reassembled for my "D".

Tom P. Very nice collection. Thank You for the pics.

Frank,
that must be what cubs look like in IH heaven, ya, know, halo and all.....

You folks have been great with helping me in the past, so here I go again.....

I have a 1650. I have had it for about 5 years. Works great. I love it.

When I was mowing the other day, everything was going great. I turned off the pto for minute, now it won't turn back on. I flip the switch, and nothing.

Fuse is ok. wiring appears to be ok.

What could be wrong? Switch? Anything easy to check?

Thanks in advance for the help.

ED:
Start with the switch. They have a tendency to go bad inside. Also, check the connection up under the PTO and make sure it is conencted. If you are good with an Ohm meter, you can easily check the PTO. Unplug up under pto and check between there and ground. If you have a beeping meter put it on that mode and you should hear the beep. If not, coil may be bad. If it beeps, then you need to head to the switch.
If you are mechanically proficient, you can carefully open up the switch and clean the inside contacts. Not on the tractor, best on kitchen table...where parts won't get lost easily. (My wife is used to me doing this) Hope one of the exterior spades has not rusted off. There are some springs and slide contacts, etc inside. I have cleaned and repaired several of mine. Not that hard to get to, you do have to remove the hood latch bracked behinf the tank. 4 bolts. Others may have differnet approaches. This is my approach. I take voltage readings along the way to help diagnose the problem. If you need a replacement swithch one of the suppliers up above has what you need.

Hi guys. My 105 seems to be having problems mowing. When I get into some deep/thick grass where it has to work a bit, the deck blades/pulleys either slow way down, or quit spinning altogether. After I sit in one spot for a few seconds, the blades resume spinning. I replaced the drive belt, as it was in rough shape. The new belt seemed to help a bit, but it still happens. I then tightened the new drive belt even more, and it did better, but still wants to slow down if it needs to work. I don't see or hear anything odd going on, in fact I watched the pto clutch pulley and belt and it doesn't look like it's slipping up there, so I'm wondering just how darn tight can I safely adjust the belt without causing other issues?

Ya think this is a belt tension problem, maybe a pto clutch issue, or something entirely different?

Just thought I'd ask before I crank that belt adjustment nut another inch or so....

Hi guys,
I have an oil leak in my 1450. Thought it was the gasket between the hydro and gearbox but after changing it still leaking. I found it is leaking out of the seal behind the control arm. Can this be changed by me or is it for specialist?
Thanks for any help,
David

Jarrod,
If the grass is pretty tall or thick and the belt is tight than you need to raise the deck and cut it in two passes. I have a few spots in my back lawn that can not be cut in one pass when it is over 5" tall, even with a walk behind mower where the blade is driven from the engine crankshaft.

Hey Charlie...

Here is the Sells Family & Cadet Connection Tent at RPRU and a shot of the IH Prototype Dealership bulding under restoration.

Jarrod,

Check the PTO clutch carefully, you may have broken one of the "ears" on the tension spring, causing the clutch to slip (BTDT, similar symptoms).

You may also be slipping the blade drive belt on the deck.

In general, if you are slipping a belt under load you will get a clear indication...."chirp", "smoke", or "smell"....leading me to be suspicious of the PTO clutch.
