For Sale: 128 with creeper, headlights, 3-point, spring assist, and tiller.
I've had this tractor for 3 years. This is a 1974 model with the brake-style PTO. I plowed with this tractor at Blunier's in Fall 2006 and it did a fantastic job. The engine starts effortlessly and runs excellent with no smoke or noises. It will start in the cold as well; I plowed snow with it one winter. I intended to keep this tractor for a long time, but now I have another tiller to put on my 782D, so I don't need this anymore. The paint is all original except for the "basket" pulley on the crank and the air cleaner. The air cleaner assembly is a KT-17 unit. I have the original air cleaner assembly if you'd rather have that. The sheetmetal is all in excellent condition except for the torch cut in the fenders on the right footrest shown in one of the photos. The tiller (A #1 with both extensions) looks rusty, but it has been used very little...it spent most of its life sitting in a barn. The tines have almost no wear and most of the original paint is still on them.
Since I was going to keep this, I have put a lot of time and money into making it reliable. New parts include, but are not limited to:
-Clutch friction disc, both springs, anti-rattle springs, pilot bushing, and throwout bearing. Pressure plates were trued up in a lathe.
-Carb rebuilt, new air filter, PTO bearing and PTO end crank seal.
-Almost new front tires. (Rears are from an 1811 and in great shape)
-CORRECT long drive belt for tiller
-CORRECT HEAVY-DUTY billet steel mule drive pulleys...The dealer found me some NOS ones. They were not cheap...
-Creeper bearing, seal, o-rings, etc.
This tractor is ready to drive off of your trailer and till your garden. You will be hard-pressed to find a nicer original-condition tractor. I am the second owner, and this has always been very well maintained. You will not be disappointed with this machine.
I am asking $875 for this tractor, picked up in Rockford, Illinois. You would have a hard time putting a tractor together for what I'm asking for this one. My asking price is what I have in it; I'm not making money on this. All the hard work has already been done, so this tractor is ready to be put to work.
I am causally looking for a manual-lift 82-series hydro with engine and/or trans problems, and also a 46GT deck and subframe. If you have either of those things, we can work out some sort of partial trade. Please email with questions and for higher-res pictures. Thanks for looking!
