Thanks to Marty and Kraig's reassurance the K301 would fit into my 100 I leveled it up on my hoist and removed the pin from the clutch lever and raised the drive shaft and with a little wiggle it slipped right into place. The old motor had been sitting in another tractor for years and after I...

Harry: I agree it has to be in the needle valve or the float and that is what I thought after I put it back together and it leaked. I haven't done anything on it for a couple weeks since I wanted to take a BFH to it. I will get it out and check it out again.

I can understand doug's frustration with the leaky carb. on his 122. I have the same problem with a #30 carburetor on my 1650. I left the gas turned off to the engine for a few months last winter and when I turned the gas back on it poured out of the carburetor. I soaked and put a new Kohler...

    169 OWNERS COLLECT HERE

Frank: The 169 serial #506737 is still in Bennettsville, Indiana and will probably be there until it is in another estate sale. I had it overhauled shortly after buying it from the original owner's estate sale and it runs great like an old Cub Cadet should. I mow and push snow with it...

Aaytay on your 169 registry I noticed you have the wrong engine serial number listed on my 169 serial #506737. It still has the original engine serial #6091963 with 13 fins in it. Also I didn't see my other 169 I own listed. The tractor serial #527920 and engine serial #6324678 with 12 fins if...

    169 OWNERS COLLECT HERE

Harry I didn't try putting my muffler back together, but if I can't find a replacement muffler I will try. I have had this CC 169 for several years now. A little while after buying it I had local shop completely rebuild the motor and it probably has less than a 100 hours on the motor since the...

    169 OWNERS COLLECT HERE

Thanks Kendall H. and Jeff B. for the muffler information. I will look at Napa and CC Specialties and see what they have. I don't think the backfire was anything serious. The motor ran fine after the initial start up.

    169 OWNERS COLLECT HERE

Last week I tried to start my 169 and it backfired and blew the end off the muffler. I have read on the forum the 169 muffler is nla. Does anyone know if there is a muffler similar to the original 169 muffler available?

Jeff, Harry: My 169 has manual hydro release valves. I guess I switched the tunnel cover off my 169 with one off of a 1650 and did not notice. I also removed the 169 tunnel cover to be sure. Sorry for confusing everyone.

Harry: I also thought the automatic release valves were for later production tractors, but the 169 I have and sent you the picturs of does not have a hole in the tunnel for the hydro release lever. I will remove the tunnel later today and see if has manual or auto valves. I could have had the...

Hydro harry: In one of your earlier post you mentioned you were surprised not seeing a hyro release lever on my 169. Is that unusual to not have the lever? I didn't think the the release valves or the tunnel cover had been replace. I have a later production 169, but can't remember if it has...

paul Bell: I did buy the 169 locally from an estate auction in Borden Ind. several years ago. I knew the original owner, but I don't know if he worked at Harvester. It was purchased from the Ohio Valley dealership in New Albany. The dealership closed many years ago.
