Anyone know if any of the Originals used a dipstick on the motor or was that added with the 70/100s? Thanks

    Sprayers

Looking for ideas for a small sprayer to mount on the rear of a NF. The sprayer itself should be pretty straightforward (off the shelf) but more curious about ways to mount it. I've seen a couple pretty cobbled up ones but would like something a little more "factory" looking. Any ideas appreciated.

Kraig - thank you very much - had me scared for a bit! I'm sure it's been said many times but I really appreciate your work and contribution on this forum. Makes it possible for boneheads like me to enjoy this hobby.

Question - replacing front (flywheel side) oil seal on a k301 and according to the manual (if I'm reading it correctly) the seal is to be seated 1/2 inch in the bearing plate. Problem is - after seating it about a 1/4 inch or so I'm bumping up against the main bearing in the plate. Not sure...

Morning. Have a creeper question. Took one off a 126 and want to use it on a 70. This particular creeper has the long straight handle with no bends and no extension setup - just a long, straight handle. So, to use it on my 70, or any other short tunnel tractor, can I just shorten the handle and...

Evening all. Curious if anyone knows what the exhaust pipes from the factory were just raw metal or painted. Obviously paint wouldn't last long but curious nonetheless. Thanks.

Ron - brake lever on tranny actually came off fairly easy and then the pin that slides in the tranny came out. Now I can see the ball inside the housing but kinda stumped as to how I'll know if the brakes actually work w/o putting everything back together and tyranny back on tractor?

    '61 Original Refurb Ser. #8213

Well all, gonna try my hand at an Original refurb. Just acquired this unit a couple weeks ago, along with a '63 parts O, and making a little progress including the following: 1. Power washed the tractor 2. Removed engine and stripped it bare 3. Thoroughly cleaned carb/sediment bowl 4. Pulled...

    Cylinder homes

Hello all. I have a few engines that appear to have decent pistons and bores (haven't measured for specs) and would to attempt to just freshen them up with a deglazing/honing. I'm curious what others have used with success and any tips would be appreciated insofar as grit #, etc. I'm certain HF...

David - thank you for responding. I'll just hit em with a little sandpaper and leave well enough for now. I've ruined enough stuff for now! I've been half afraid to mess with these things but after putting one together (new from prior owner) there really doesn't seem to much to them. Getting...

John B. - the rig on the back of your Original is probably a prototype of the utility box IH introduced in '63 and likely the only one in existence on planet earth.
