Question about narrow frame mule drives

Hi everyone...it's been awhile. I've been more focused on my MF equipment of late but I have some questions about the narrow frame mule drives on my IH tractors. Most of the time I use the older style mule drive on my 70, 100, and 123. I use those with the pin on subframe and cast end decks...

A great day for mowing on an IH Cub....

Greetings everyone, It's been awhile since I've checked in... I hope everyone is healthy and doing well. I thought I'd share some mowing video shot just today: Best wishes all, Steve

Those old Prestolite batteries are pretty neat. On a related note I'm always hoping to find more sets of the original style mower blades for the 38" and 42" cast end decks that are in new or very good condition...the wing tips were different than more recent replacements and the cutting edge...

Very sharp Justin...A 147 would be my choice for a 14 hp --- the cast end deck on there rocks, too!

Earl F...Yes, we had just swapped out the battery for another one having more charge, but I can't say for sure it was FULLY charged. The engine was running when I tried the lights, though. I'm not sure this means anything, but the starter generator on that tractor typically slips...and often a...

    My 73 Refurbish

After many months of locating parts, cleaning, sanding, and other prep work, my step-dad and I have finally made it to the paint stage of my 73 refurbish:

Paint that looks great but not too pricey

Hi Guys. I'm considering paint options for my 73 restoration...looking for a system that will provide the best result for the buck. Options include spray can, Preval aerosol paint sprayer (5 bucks at Menards), or an HVLP gun for my air compressor. I haven't checked paint prices yet but will...

The belt tension on my QA42 is mounted underneath (the manual mentions that some were like this). It also mentions a "lock" position, but I can't get mine to lock no matter what I try.

    Sharpening Mower Blades

Just wondering about others thoughts on the replacement of mower blades vs sharpening? Being the perfectionist I am, I've always been inclined to replace blades rather than sharpen them, and I'll be making this decision again next spring... the blades on my Cub 100 pin-on deck now have two...

Kendall and others: Thanks for the reply. I'm afraid you could be right about the quick rusting you mentioned -- no pics are available. We've had a lot of rain in recent days but our weather was sunny and in the high 50s when we did this on Monday. If we start over, what will prevent it...
