    1450 question starter relay

That's what I thought. The case on mine has a crack in it and I'm sure it will fail soon. Found it while figuring out why it won't crank. The culprit was a bad ground to body on the battery cable. It is a 1977 model 1450. I guess it was due.

    1450 question

Ok, lets ask another question. Has anyone ever had the collar on a rockshaft loosen from the lift lever? My lift levers on my rockshaft are not in alignment and the roll pins are good.

    1450 question

Good morning. I have heard to things about replacing the mower deck belt. It's a 1450 with 44a deck. Should I go with the 3/8x79 inch belt or the 1/2 x 80 inch belt . I have been running the 3/8x 79 belt but need a new one.

    682 work

I needed to replace the starter(bad bendix).Found out the easiest way was to take out the kt17. When lifting it out oil was running from the back of the engine. Pulled the flywheel(after much tin removal)and found the rear seal popped out of the block. One more thing to do. You never know what...

I don't post on here often but I am starting a rebuild of my 1979 1650 Kohler. It quit on me late last fall and just got a chance to look at it since I have a backup 1650 and a 169. The piston came apart at the oil ring and left the top of the piston up at the head and the connecting rod stayed...

Thanks Dennis. I thought the 4 paddle snowblower would work better. This is the only one I have ever seen. Must have been very rare.Planning on using this on my 1650 this year.

I have recently picked up a second QA42a snowblower for my 1650. I noticed this one has 4 paddles under the chute while the other one only has 2. Has anyone noticed any difference between the two setups? Is one any better than the other for throwing snow ?

Replaced the governor gear and cross shaft in my 1650 k-341 . Not sure how the po got the governor gear off the stub shaft(probably took the stop pin out for some reason). He had the points set too close also I couldn't get any power of it. Running good now. Now on to my next one. My other 1650...

Morning all. Just picked up a new project. A 1650 from craigs list. nice shape but the owner says it surges. He used a scope on it and the governor gear has come off. I think the tab on the governor shaft has broken off. Will see how much work this is.

Well got the 1650 back together. Had the cross shaft for the governor gear unscrew from the block and take off 6 teeth. Tried to fish the gear out but didn't work. Had to pull the crank and cam shaft out of it but running good again . Can't stop these old machines

Jeff Sounds great . It will be worth the price of 12" pliers to pull that off.I'll have to give it a try.

Pulled the engine on the 1650. Gear teeth in the pan from the governor. Looks like you have you have pull the camshaft to get a governor gear in there. Pulled the head too cylinder looks good just lots of carbon on the piston..
