Yes, and will be heavier duty than what originally came on it. Main thing is that it must be for a 12 volt system. I looked up one for a 1988 Ford Country Squire Station wagon on the Advance Auto site:

84C1001 just under $20.
 
That's what I thought. The case on mine has a crack in it and I'm sure it will fail soon. Found it while figuring out why it won't crank. The culprit was a bad ground to body on the battery cable. It is a 1977 model 1450. I guess it was due.
