I was blowing snow tody and I had the PTO switch quit working for a short time. Is there another switch that will work for this? It is on a 782D. I had simular problems on my 1650 and found that John Deere has a switch that would work because they also used the same engine in some of there tractors with the same PTO unit.

Mark:

Unfortunately, that PTO Switch is unique, in that it has a "Start" position to it. The Switch is 725-0893 ---> 925-0891

Here is a internal diagram of this switch...

Roland, Mark: and also, unfortunately, on the 782D, there is that 925-0894 PTO Relay, found on the left side of the pedestal, which complicates the matter even further.

Roland, you might give him an internal diagram of that also... I suggest that it show which pin of the PTO Switch goes to which pin of the Relay....then to the PTO itself...

Be sure to make sure it's a bad pto switch. I had the same problem and it was the relay myron mentioned.
