I have a LT1018 that bought new(449hrs)and i was wondering if there is a way to check my hydro fluid, it has no signs of leaking but i do see what i think is a reservoir tank. it seems that my reverse isnt as fast as it used to be.

If 449 hours is new, that's good news for me. I have a 2084 Super Garden Tractor with just 500 hours on it. A conversation with the local dealer yesterday indicated that at 500 hours it's time to change the fluid in the transmission. My tractor sometimes is sluggish in reverse (they are meant to creep slowly, not zoom backwards!)

I ordered a new filter (the hydraulic oil filters are NOT the same as similar sized automobile engine oil filters) and I hope that new oil makes it run better. I've been told that new transmission oil will improve the performance.

Guys,
I think I may have damaged my Hydro in my 1772 a couple of weeks ago. I had posted about my leaking check valve. Well, i thought it was good and not leaking anymore. I was wrong

. While I was cutting with it last week it was running out fluid through the weep hole on the one check valve like crazy. It must have dropped at least three quarts. I purchased a new check valve directly from Sauer-Danfoss (more on that story later) and installed it. I topped off the Hy-Tran and cut the lawn with it again. Now whenever the hydro is engaged, i.e. moving forward/reverse, steering, or implement lift it gives off a weird vibration and even some odd noises. I'm guessing I managed to ruin it. Has anyone else had this problem? Any insight would be much appreciated. I may need a replacement unit unless someone tells me different. It still works seemingly fine for now...
