I think I got lucky.
On my 149, I recently performed a hydro transaxle exchange, due to a massive leak. I just happened to have a spare; so while the purist would have repaired the original, I tried this first. Good news, most everything works as intended and I am using my 149 for fall cleanup.
I do have one minor performance problem, probably an adjustment issue. When going DOWNHILL ONLY, the 149 does a little bit of a donkey jerk. Perfectly smooth on level or uphill pulling. Any ideas?
But the main reason for my post is:
I do have a miniscule leak on this unit as well, and it appears to be from the hydraulic return tube connection. I could live with this indefinitely, but it seems it would be an easy fix. Problem is, I have tried to fix a similar leak before; and I made it worse. Of course I used some generic O-ring; plus as I recall it is a bugger to get this off with the hydro pump in place.
Please kindly advise on the proper method and parts.
