I'm just beginning to feel like working on this project again. Had back surgery two weeks ago and even though I'm in pain from the surgery the results are positive. So I worked on my 147 H today. Installed a starter switch. The key won't engage the starter. No big deal. It worked. After I got the motor running I noticed a huge leak from the carb. Tightened the bowl and and it still leaks. The bowl gasket is shot. I think I need to rebuild this carb. The carb itself has the raised letter/numbers and is a model C-275369. Where would you recommend a good source to buy a quality carb kit? Do I use the carb numbers or should I use the engine model number to get the correct carb kit? The engine is a Kohler K-321, 16 HP. I appreciate you assistance.

FYI a K321 is 14 hp, hence the model number 147 denotes 14 hp, hydrostatic trans

Carb kit is KH-25-757-01. Available many places.

The Cub Cadet parts lookup is a good place to get part numbers for the parts that are not specific to the trencher: Replacement Parts & Service | Cub Cadet US
Thank you for the information. I opened the carb up this morning and the float is full of gas. Located the hole and will solder it once all the gas has dripped out. But it still needs a kit so I'll order one from the site you suggested. Thank you again.

Looks like that part number won't fit the K321- However KH-25-757-02 will fit. Will order it today.

Thank you for that information. I had the hardest time locating it until I looked under the "fuel & Tune up" section. Seems like it would be listed under the carburetor section. And they appear to be closed through Nov 13th. I'll check with my local small engine repair and see if they have the kit and float. Thanks again for your help. I appreciate it very much.

I was able to solder the hole and a couple of other areas that were suspicious and then filed them smooth. I'll keep it under water over night and see if I sealed the leak.

Just submerge the float in a teacup of very hot water. If there is still a leak, you will see bubbles immediately.
