Kraig,

Yes.....Your archives should have some close-ups of the tires themselves, I remember Wyatt posting some pics of them.

Steve, thanks for confirming that those are the tires. Here are some more tire photos that I think are Wyatt's tires.

The rock shaft is different on 982 vs other 82 series tractors. The mower lift is the same, but the lift for blades and blowers is the major difference. There is a slight difference in the brackets were the rockshaft attached to the lift cylinder. Not sure how long CC kept the IH design for the shaft. I broke my shaft in half were the roll pin passed through. The local IH dealer years ago (1980's)did a poor job of solving multiple roll pin breaks, welded the shaft/collar in and around the roll pin. I had to cut the broken shaft with a saws-all to get it out. I generally get parts off ebay, but not too many 982 parts most of the time.

Yep, Size was 7 X 12, from a front of a competitive make's FWA Compact diesel tractor. Good Year's "Long Bar - Short Bar" design. I personally don't like the looks of the LB-SB tires but I agree they had good grip.

I have a question for the Correct Police ,On an Original what profile on the front rims is older the tapered on square?

Mike, well, #522, when I saw it at C&G, had the square style, #409 also had the square style on it when "found" but I can't say they originally had that style.

Here's a wheel from #522:

Here's a prototype Cub Cadet from some old photos it appears to also have the square style rims.

As long as you caught me in the middle of my painting my rims. This is what 5398 was wearing when it came from the plant. They are kind of rounded where the tire goes on. I suspect the difference comes from who the cheapest supplier was when they were ordered. Roger

For those who are trying to contact Travis as CCSpecialties, please rember that Travis does have a full time job and is on a volanteer fire department, along with running his web site.
Be sure to put Cub Cadet in the subject line to help avoid your e-mails being driected to the junk mail folder through his e-mail service.
I know this will happen as it did to me a couple of times.

John K.
First make sure your hydraulic system is full of oil, second bleed any air out of the cylinders and lines, and last make sure your hydraulic oil filter is not clogged.

...so, my wife is putting my daughter Emma to bed this evening while I'm out harvesting corn at Big Steve's place. She says her little kids prayer with her, then goes into "and God bless......" (Emma is only 19 mo., so filling in the blanks is a big deal for her).

Well tonight she says....And God bless....."Pa Pa" (Big Steve) and "Combine"........she refused to say Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, etc., just repeated "Pa Pa" and "Combine".

Can't argue with a 1-1/2 year old......So....God bless Pa Pa and his new Combine.....What a great kid!!!!!!

Kraig:
Can you find and post a picture of the back part of the Air Cleaner for a 169. I need to see what it looks like. I have the correct cover for my 169 but do not have the part that screws to the carb.

Also, how may different access holes were there on the original to gain access to the steering box?

I have two different holes and one without any access holes. One hole is half moon shaped the other has two round holes. They appear to be original. Do not look like they were drilled after delivery.

Thanks

Went and picked up a freebie this last weekend. Not exactly Cub Cadet, but still cool (especially for the price).

Wife's grandfather gave me a 200 bu. Heider barge wagon on a 10T Westendorf running gear w/hoist. A little small for hauling to town, but still usefull around the farm.

Just checked GoodYear's website. Looks like the 7-12 NHS Dyna Torque II is still listed as a current production tire.

For those who might want to try them....would look good as a dual too.

Steve,
Would you happen to have a link to the Goodyear site?

Opps, never mind, I found the site.
I am learing how to use the search parts of this computer.
