Well after searching I found the first 169 made, right here on Charlies -UNREPLACABLE -forum.

The first 169 had a frame tag which means that it is highly unlikely to have a rearend tag original 169.

Here is a link to the thread and Thurmans first 169

Frank I go back to that thread often, but Charlie took a lot of heat about the thread and closed it,I would of closed it also if I had to.
My earlier post was NOT a dig at Charlie although it may have sounded that way

sorry I cant get the link to highlite and take you there, maybe Charlie or Kraig can help highlite it

Thank you Sir.

Frank and Charlie - thanks to both of you for posting the links to take us back to the 169 threads.

And Frank - what ever happened to your "minus 100 point 169 restoration"? I don't think I ever saw the finished project. I certainly hope it ain't sitting outside as you mentioned earlier. I still think you can move those bags of pellets.

Jeff - I thought there was a specific serial number break when the S/N tag was moved to the side of the frame from the rear diff housing. Did you check your book?

Harry I have looked but not found an exact date, but will keep trying I wonder if Paul can shed some light here?

Jeff - I'm certain I had heard there was a specific S/N break and it was long before the 1st 169, maybe back in mid/late 1973. Not sure if Paul Bell has that info but hope he'll chime in if he does. Pretty certain it was detailed in one of the books.

Pretty sad for 15 days of posting!

My latest dated rear end tag indicates a Febuary 1974 build and my next tractor is a May 1974 build and that tag is on the frame left side

Feb74 #500115 thru May #510353

it had to be in spring 74
