Ken,
The ID of the extension tube is close in diameter to matching the exhaust tube on the muffler. I made a couple of 1 inch long cuts in the end that goes on the muffler before clamping it on. That worked out just fine.

Jeremiah, I believe what you are seeing in that photo is just an adjustable lift link for leveling the deck side to side. In the photo below, the sub frame on the far right is what the sub frame should look like for a wide frame Cub and a 42" deck. The one on the far left would be the narrow frame version. The two in the middle are wide frame sub frames for the 44 and 50" decks. Other than the mule drive portion, I do not believe that there is any difference in the width of the deck sub frames.

Jeremiah, I just went out to my shed and measured one of my 42" decks and one of my narrow frame sub frames. The deck has 10-5/8" between the inside of the two spring clips and the outside dimension of the rear portion of the deck hanger is 10-1/2".

Would I be able to use a wide frame mule drive, under carriage on a 782? I want to use one of my 42" decks on it. The 44c it came with is shot and the pulleys are bent on the mule drive.

need a schematic for 149/1250 hydro flow as complete thanks to whomever can help :)

Ken that may be in the manuals section at the bottom of the topix page.

Kraig: Thank you for taking the time to measure the the deck and carriage, it is the key piece of information I'm lacking. My deck span measures 10-3/4" and the distance across the rails of the carriage is 10-1/4" (looking more closely at my own photographs). The rail ends appear to be bent in a little bit, but I thought the deck pins were straight, I guess I'll "adjust" them some more.

I guess I didn't have as much to worry about as I thought, but the situation does explain why the "correct" belt did not fit.

Again, thanks for checking the dimensions.

Melody: I'll be interested to learn the thoughts of others on your question. The difference I see is in how the mule drive attaches to the tractor. The 82 Series uses pins welded on the sides of the wrap-around front piece; the other style of wide frame uses one of the pulley assembly shafts to latch the drive in. But I don't see a huge difference in the design of the frame itself, so I'm thinking it should work. Hopefully, someone with experience or knowledge will chime in to let us know for certain.

DAVE C, JEREMIAH - I read a comment on another forum that MAC sells some really good screw drivers too, comparable to Snap-On but cheaper. I'll have to look for a set of Klein's too. Thanks for the tip.

Years ago when SON & I raced R/C cars they were all held together with tiny socket head cap screws, #4-40 and 3 mm, the sockets were REALLY small, .050" & 1/16". We used up several cheap allen wrenches then finally bought a set of allen drivers from the hobby shop that were made from a good grade of tool steel and precision ground. They NEVER rounded off the hex on the bit, always the hex in the capscrew. I bought a couple boxes of 100 pcs #4-40 button head & regular socket head TORX screws for about what the hobby shop wanted for a bag of five socket head cap screws. We used the TORX screws for anything that had to be tight and stay tight.

Dennis, Yes Mac makes some really good screwdrivers..Years ago I had a Matco tool truck driver tell me that Old Forge makes the screwdrivers for Mac and Matco...I have used them and they are very good as well...

Dennis Frisk

I have about 4 sets of screw drivers here, I keep buying sets in hopes of finding a good set.I do have a pair that snap-on sold in a gift set, the common and Phillips head. They get the most use if I`am looking for that kind of driver.
