1772 temp gauge

Anybody know of any good replacement for the temp gauge on a 1772. Kubota still offers one but they want $130. I can't find where the probe is on the engine if there is a probe. From looking at a wireing diagram there is non.
Any help well appreciated.

I'd try a NAPA store. My 782D has a non factory replacement gauge and it works great. The PO installed it many years ago.
