Thanks fellas for the feedback on the clutch cover. Makes sense as for hydro cooling but just to keep it half way correct I'll go with a solid cover on the 123.

Curious if anyone knows for sure which clutch cover the 123 came with - perforated or solid. Seen both but no idea which is correct. Thanks

Well, given Kraigs info it sounds like the dipstick was indeed added sometime during O production. Guess I'm curious now at what point. Could be a tuff one to answer. Thanks all.

Anyone know if any of the Originals used a dipstick on the motor or was that added with the 70/100s? Thanks

Thanks fellas - haven't done anything yet but hopefully before spring. I actually had a pull behind sprayer but like a dummy I sold it.

    Sprayers

Looking for ideas for a small sprayer to mount on the rear of a NF. The sprayer itself should be pretty straightforward (off the shelf) but more curious about ways to mount it. I've seen a couple pretty cobbled up ones but would like something a little more "factory" looking. Any ideas appreciated.

Looking for a 70s vintage 5 hp Briggs horizontal shaft for an older chipper/shredder. No smokers (have too many already) please. Located central Indiana. Thanks

    Sorry - shiny paint!

Josh - was actually being nice! It honestly amazes me what people will pay for big box riders and then they're surprised when they break down. Have a few neighbors with them and from time to time I'll see em in the yard trying to figure out how something so new could be giving them problems...

I put a pair of Millers Firestone Turfs on my '61 O and they look pretty good. Not exact replica but according to Miller it's as close as you'll find. Good luck in your search.

Paul, Frank - I'll get more details today but the engine is yellow with the engine id on a sticker on the flywheel cover rather than the actual plate riveted to the cover. Sounds like it's out of a later Cub rather than a factory replacement.

Food for thought? Have a good running 12 hp that I removed from a 123. It's a replacement engine with the cam cover dipstick with no upper dipstick tube. I would like to use it but it's obviously not correct for that tractor. Question is - can I remove the grenade gears, drill the block for a...

Kraig - thank you very much - had me scared for a bit! I'm sure it's been said many times but I really appreciate your work and contribution on this forum. Makes it possible for boneheads like me to enjoy this hobby.

Kraig - I have another identical block - I'll measure the depth of the holes for the head in the block to see if they're all the same. Maybe someone has a pic of an early Original showing the bolt/stud breakdown if it indeed calls for studs. In a post awhile back where I had asked about studs vs...

Kraig - your post shows a total of 6 which is one short - think there should be 7.
