How much "play" should there be in the pin craddle for sub frames? Lew measured his NOS sub frame for front blade as 1/2" pin. When I place a 1/2" bolt in its place for now as I have not gone to buy new pins yet, there seems to be a fair bit of play? I know they are old tractors, so some is totally normal. But is mine at the point of needing to be rebuilt to make it close tighter around the 1/2" pin? Or make a bigger in?

I think the dog that holds the pins into the slot is okay, I am thinking it's is slot itself, the croch for the pin that needs rebuilding?
Should be able to cut those off and weld on some new ones.
Should be able to cut some new ones out with plasma cutter and weldn on

I just welded mine up and ground them back into shape.

I would like to do that, but I don't have good bits or stones for my die grinder. I have yet to find some good ones. Suggestions? Would be much nicer than having to make new jaws
 
It will be a real chore to cut out the badly worn jaws and weld in new or good used ones and have it look nice.
Those jaws take a hell of a beating over the years from mule drive and snow blade use.
