A friend has a cub cadet 127 thats been in the yard a long time..... Complete unit needing a seat, paint work , rear tires and some love and wants 150 . Is this worth messing with ?

You can't go wrong at $150. That is a 12HP K301 with a hydro trans. Great tractor, and if you get tired with it, it won't be hard to unload.

I've seen very few good local ones for sale. My latest tractor was purchased because I felt bad for it. The idiot that owned it just let it sit and rot in his front yard when the deck belt snapped. I had been trying to acquire it since June, but at that point he just wanted way too much for it. I finally wore him down to a couple of hundred, but it was the most difficult face to face transaction I have ever had. It was to the point I was afraid he was going to say "screw it" and off to the scrap yard it went. Fortunately, the Cub has more positive aspects about it than negative, and it is coming around nicely.
