You do have a QA42A, correct?
A for adjustable as in width.

Mine isa 32" width, everything lines up,just can't get that 1 inch forward for tabs to catch on frame..
The QA latch needs to be in the down position.
Sounds like the locking tabs may be rusted shut?
You may have to take the assembly apart and make sure everything is moving freely.
It should latch when you push the unit onto the shoulder bolts with an audible "click"

I only have the QA42 but I wonder if the adjustable part got set a bit too tight? Is that possible?
The QA42 in not adjustable and is for the narrow frame cubs only
The QA42A is the adjustable model.
