What is a reed valve and where can I find it on my Kohler 17 HP Series II?
 
Are you talking about the little vavle thingy for the breather? If so it's on the top right side as you are sitting on the seat. It's got the hose going into it from the air cleaner.
 
Is another word for this "umbrella valve" or are they two separate parts?
