What was the year and model numbers of the last narrow frame Cub Cadets, and first numbers/year of the wide frame Cub Cadets? Thank you.

73, 106, 107, 126, 127, 147 - Last Narrow frame
86, 108, 109, 128, 129, 149, 169 - First wide frames
Additionally,
Even number is a Manual transmission (the 73 is also, and an exception to this.)
Odd number is a Hydro Transmission

The 71 and 73 are an exception to this…. But, he had asked about the last narrow and first wideframes…. So that is what I was basing my response from…

On a salvaged 42 1 U 1113 mower deck I found the spindle oil seals to be installed backwards(?). The open face of seals are facing outwards (away from bearings). I thought all oil/grease seals have flat side out. Any info will be greatly appreciated, thank you, Rick B.

Service manual for some decks say to put one seal (bottom one would be my choice) in backwards so excess grease can escape when the bearing is greased.

Good morning, I have never stumbled across a service manual for any mower deck... other than in an operator's manual. Installed like you say would allow the grease to escape from underside of deck and not between deck and spindle pulley. Do you know where I can get my grubby little paws on one of them deck service manuals?
