I bought a 1650 Cub Cadet last week for parts, thinking that the motor or transmission was bad......... Well, I started looking at it more closely .added oil, gas and battery. She atarted right up after a few cranks---no noises-- no oil burning. Also has a cutting deck. I never see these at that price......

Leslie-

You got a great deal. You can actually post this in the main forum because the 1650 is a garden tractor. That way you will reach more folks and get more input. I'd continue going through all of the fluids and use Hytran for the rearend along with a new filter. This way you will know exactly where you stand.

Good luck (as if you need it).

Leslie what a deal. Congratulations, how about a pic.
