I have a cadet model 80 lawn tractor (just bought it) Does anyone know where the drain for the hydrostatic is located? Dan

Here again, the Cub Cadet Parts Lookup button above is for more than just lookin up parts.

Dan C: Sometimes parts illustrations just do not tell the whole story.

1) I looked at TC-157...No drain plug shown - just like Charlies picture.

2) I looked at the Model 80 Operator Manual. Again no drain plug or location shown. The Operator Manual is where you would normally expect to find that information.

3) I then looked in the GSS 1463 (Rev 3) Blue Ribbon Service Manual, which includes the Model 80, an alas I again struck out...no drain plug or location to be found here either...

4) So in desperation, I went out to the CC Supply Room and physically looked at one....Yep all the above are correct..there ain't no drain plug on the bottom or place to drain it while mounted to the transaxle.

5. Actually it's not too difficult, once you remove the drive belt, brake and reverse rods, there's only 4 bolts to remove so you just simply remove the hydrostatic pump from the tractor, remove that plug (not shown in the illustrations)in the top of the casting(behind the fill cap), turn it upside down and drain away.....
