Hf electric winch

I have a hf small electric winch on my cub and am starting to have problems with the switch.The switch is hand held with 2 push buttons one in and one out.I took apart and switches are inclosed in housing.It has red and black wires in from battery and red and black out to winch motor.Does anyone know of a way to eleminate this switch using maybe double throw double pole type switch to operate winch motor in and out.

thanks for input Brad I had in my mind center contacts of switch power in so I will get a switch I have to test with if works then will get spring loaded one.ED

Ed, doesn't matter if you use center terminals or end terminals for power input, Result will be the same either way.

Either way works, I had to install a relay as
the amperage was to much for the switch to handle.

ED, just for drill, look here for maybe something premade. I didn't look hard, so there 'maybe' something you can use. A.

I did some research for a control for the electric chute rotator on my 149, and found this availalbe from TSC.. $59.00..

I also am thinking of getting a used gaming joystick and mounting it to my hyd. lift handle, rounting the small wired to some relays to control also...

thanks for input Brad.Today went to granger and got dpdt momentary switch disconnected origional and wired in works so far without relay.Going to go to hardware store and get plastic switch box and will have mounted to right fender top but works. Switch I used was 1xwt1 granger item and is a ideal switch.Thanks for all input
