I put new rings, valves, etc in the briggs for my Spirit of 76. I was able to get it to turn over with the new starter a couple of times, then cough once. Now I can't get it to turn over.
So, I took it apart again, and with the bottom cover and the head off, I have a dog of a time spinning it over by hand. I have to use a screwdriver in the flywheel, and even then it is hard to do.
Is this normal for a ring job?
Secondly, I found oil on top of the piston when I pulled the head. Is this a sign of something I did wrong?
Thanks.
