Frank, the only difference between the 2 has to do with the transmission everything but tranny related parts are the same, or should be. good luck.

thanks, but, my question is, is it normal for the 129 to have the PTO engaging lever and the implement raise/lower lever, but not have a front PTO?
I am just wondering if it could have a different type of PTO then my 128, without the lever that hits the button on the PTO clutch.
 
Frank, No, thats not the norm. Mabey somebody pulled those parts off. I pulled the front bracket off my 149 when I installed a QL 14 horse. The electric clutch hit it.

129`s had a number break for the pto.some had the old style pto with a button and some had the brake style pto. I have the break style on my loader 129. I would need you number to know what you should have.

Good job! charlie, i could offer my 2 cents but do not feel the need, i think this site is very clean and neat someone should visit a yahoo site that is not moderated and see what happens, they offer a great deal on viagra, as a sponsor on this site it is the best money spent for the the best group of guys! I plan on mounting Firestone Floatation tires on my machine. The size will be 23x10.50x12. They will be on 8.5 inch rims.
My question is : What is the preferred loading method? Window washer fluid or tire sealer ?
 
With out this forum I dont know what I would do.

I know <u>exactly</u> what you are talking about and I agree with your comments. Members don't see what goes on behind the scenes nor the daily barrage of e-mails complaining about one thing or another, the daily maintenance, and keeping the ship on course.

You have done a good job of running this forum, keeping it FREE, and constantly adding and improving this forum.

I sent you an email with my comments and my offer to help.

I remember way back in late '99 or early 2000, when I first started exploring garden tractors as a hobby. I found this site and read almost all the posts. I remember several names, i.e., Bryan, Jim Steele, Bob Necker, etc. Then I decided I wanted green and yellow, and bought a JD 214. WFM came online January 2002. I immediately joined and later became moderator. Throughout all that I would still come here and read, gawked at the pictures, trying to figure out the Cub Cadet mystique. I got into Wheel Horses for a couple of years. Joined Red Square Wheel Horse forum (I am member 31). Became a moderator there. Throughout it all I still came here and read and gawked and wondered.

Finally in February 2009 I bought my first Cub. Now I have about 8 or so, only 3 JDs and no Wheel Horses. I immediately came back to this site (I didn't know OCC existed, nor the registry). Why would I, this WAS the Cub Cadet forum, the one I first found many years ago. Of course, my interest grew so I found OCC and the registry and the Yahoo Groups site. But, to me, I still associate Cub Cadets and this site together.

Charlie, you got my support.
 
Ronald H., not exactly sure what it is you are asking about the tires.

Please clarify. Are you asking about adding window washer fluid for weight? Or using it for assisting in getting the tires mounted onto the rims?

All i can say is have fun getting 10.50 tires on 8.50 rims. they are really going t be sunk in around the rim...
 
He won't have any trouble. A 10.50 tire (and the 982's 26-12-12) uses an 8.5" wide rim, and an 8.50 tire uses a 7" rim.

Hey guys. I hope this is the right spot for this post. The forum layout is different than others I visit. I am an older member that hasent been back here in years. Anyway...

I have a 124 with the 12hp Kohler. I use it just for mowing, 48" deck and 4-5 acres. I do the bare minimum to keep it running and am starting to pay for it. oil, sharpen, air, and lube every other mow. I need this thing because I am not spending 7K to replace it.

I am pretty handy around anything that moves and learn as I go. Well the wires are all shot. you can touch them and they fall apart, I need to jump box to start it. it starts 100% that way. the rear end just started leaking. the deck has holes in it I can get my hand through. belts are all cracked. I hold the clutch in for a long time and have to be rough on the gears to change them. The steering arm has been ducktaped back on at the ball joint a dozen times, now its just a wrapped bungie(not the drag link, the rod that goes to the front left tire).

I dont want to ruin this thing. I spend so much time wrenching on my jeep I have committed the sin of not keeping it in good shape. The frame is solid and the engine runs smooth. So this is what I am getting at.

I want to get it back into good condition this winter, so I can get many more years of good use out of it.
-Can I order a complete wiring kit with instructions?
-Can I fix my clutch issue where it doesn't stop spinning for 10+ seconds?
-Can I order a new deck or send this one for a re-build? the spindles seem OK but I dont know how to check that.
-Where can I order all new belts?
-What about an air filter? I just have some foam in there now.
-where can I get a new steering ball joint?

and finally a blasphamy question. Can I order a new motor? I want to head off any issues that a '67 motor can start having.

Erik, the forum sponsors, links above have brand new replacement wiring harnesses, belts, air filters, ball joints for the drag links and tie rod ends and pretty much everything else you could need to keep your Cub Cadet running smoothly. The drive shaft spinning is a common thing, the release bearing is likely shot and is sticking and the bushing on the engine coupler is likely in need of some lube. Check the classifieds for mower decks for sale or place an add in the wanted section. Engines can be rebuilt, again the sponsors have the parts you'd need.
