Charlie - there isn't a drop of oil any place. Was it that bone dry when you got it?

Doug A - can you let us know how your thrower works out with those wheels. I initially thought they were a good idea but then realized one wheel is always going to be tracking in the snow, and if the snow is 6-8" deep or more it will probably raise the thrower. I guess you can always make a quick removal and put a skidder back on. Let us know please.

Those bearings are sealed on both sides and the inner seal was still intact, So yes it was dry.
If both sides had went south, then the outer shaft seal would have keep the oil inside anyway.

The shaft flopping almost 3/8" when I got it was a dead giveaway that the bearing had went POOF!
