One of my mottos is: If I don't keep doing stupid things, how am I going to learn?????? I used to call it "woodchuck engineering", but then I thought it was too degrading to woodchucks.

Kendell; I agree that the s-10 joint is not the ideal fix for the driveline, but at the time I thought, lets try it. Some of my concerns were extra rotating mass, wobble, clearance, and of course grenading!!!! That fix is on one of my dad's cubs and it is still going strong after years of use...

Hey Reggie, just get a driveshaft flange, rag joint "flex disc", and a driveshaft coupler. May have to drill a new hole in the driveshaft but it works awesome. I have done this mod on a few tractors. The flex disc takes the shock out of the driveline and will last a long time. Take a look at...

Checked all the grounds-cleaned, tightend, even added a new one to the frame. Clicking is coming from the solenoid inside the dash tower.

Ground should be fine. I was mowing the other night and shut off the tractor. Tried to start it up a little while later and the same clicking noise was heard. Let it sit, tried again and it started right up. Now tonight-nuthin????

Need help. 149 will not start. When I turn the key, only a clicking noise can be heard. Tried to jump it directly from the battery to the coil-no luck. Maybe the magnetic switch (starter solenoid)? Any help would be appreciated.

Steve B. Thanks for the advice. Went to my dad's tonight and fixed the problem. It was only a 15 minute job and 10 of that was wrestling with the fenders!

Steve, thanks for the info. I will have to go out to his house this week and look into it a little closer.

Question: my dad called me tonight and told me the 128 he is restoring will only go in reverse? Won't go in first at all and when he puts it in 2nd or 3rd, it sounds like the tractor is going to stahl, but no movement. He said it went in all of the gears before he painted it and he said he did...

Glen; Here are some pix of my weight set-up. I used the existing rear hitch holes for the bracket. In the summer time when I mow, I take the weights off and I can leave the bracket on without any problems. Of course I have the suitcase weights which ease in the removal. On a side note: it...

Qusetion: Does anybody have any ideas on a better way to connect the hydro. lift handle to the hydro pump? It is a little sloppy after sawing on it for the past couple of days.

Everyone says RTFM, well I read it today and nowhere in it did it give a "suggested ramming speed" when plowing snowbanks over 2 feet!! Plowed for a second time today. I will be going to my dads tonight to get my QA42A. She's all new and never been used. Thought I would give her a try.

Hey Kendell, I use a movers platform for my QA42 to store in the off-season. When the time comes, I just roll it up to the front of the tractor and no problem. I got mine at Harbor Freight. Cost about $15. A lot easier than hefting around 200+ pounds of thrower.
