    Any John Deere owners???

Guy I work with has a 318 he's thinking about selling. I've seen it once, it looked to be in pretty decent shape, but the cool thing about it was that it has a Cat 0 3-point hitch on it.

    Hello From Tennessee,

There are Cubs to be found around here. Sounds like you might not live too far away. I'm in Maury county and I work in Lawrence county, if either of those is in your neck of the woods.

    Hello From Tennessee,

There are definitely property taxes in Tennessee! Lived here all my life... What we don't have is a state income tax.

    Steering wheel removal

Friend of mine used to build pullers and dealt with a lot of older Cubs in various conditions. He told me he would spray the steering wheel hubs with Kroil, wait a few hours, and use a cheap air hammer tool with a pointed tip. Said he would grab the wheel in one hand, stick the tip of the air...

If it's not a #4, it'll do until one comes along. I have 2 #4s, and that one is mighty close.

Jeremiah Chamberlin, and Steve B., thanks for the responses on the 782 governor issues. The overspeeding is now fixed, still have a little work to do on the carb surging, but at least I can now mow without fearing I'll be seeing Kohler parts scattered on the lawn. 'Preciate the help!

Hi, guys, Need some input/advice from the Cub Cadet gurus if possible, please. I have a 782, KT17 Series I, and I cannot get the engine speed regulated on it. It requires about half-choke to start, but after a few minutes of run time you can push the choke in without creating issues. When...

    Vista sucks...

My biggest gripes with Vista are that it won't run Procurve Manager Plus and you have to go to the "Run" command in the Start menu to telnet to anything. The telnet issue is a minor aggravation, but not running Procurve Manager Plus is a show-stopper for my work laptop, so it has to stay...

Dave, I'm told that there's always a bit of "drag" associated with the external brakes that is not present on the internal brake rear-ends. Another thing, the caliper assemblies and linkages for the external brakes weigh more than the single brake linkage for the internal brake, and to most...

KENtuck, you're right on the 684 being kinda hard on the yard. It's really more tractor than I need these days, as I'm not farming any more since Dad and I had our big falling-out this past summer. I don't even have room enough where we live to park it, since we live in town and have a small...

Dave K2, ain'tcha ever heard that forgiveness is easier to obtain than permission? If I had to wait on the wife to give permission, I'd NEVER have another Cub (or even parts) again, most likely. That being said, keep in mind that a) our financial arrangements aren't necessarily what most...

    IH Push Mowers

Yep, Dave, I pick up old Lawn-Boys whenever I find 'em, especially if they have aluminum decks. Not too many of them in this area, apparently, because I don't see them often. I only pick up the self-propelled ones if they're REAL cheap (as in FREE, or close to it), as I don't care much for...

Ever heard of an Electric Garden Tractor??

Somebody mention Oliver garden tractors? This one showed up at one of the Fayetteville shows this past spring. These were made for Oliver by Jacobsen, who also made garden tractors for Ford and Minneapolis-Moline.
