Why wouldn't the battery in my 1650 be charging during operation? Eroc

I'm wondering about 1250/1650 compatability. Are a few, some or most parts interchangeable between a 1250 and 1650? Found a nice condition 1250 that I might want for a second tractor or for parts Eric

One of two things is happening with my 1650. Either its not charging the battery or its draining the battery when both leads are left on when the tractor isn't running. Any thoughts on how to figure this out and fix it? Eric

Frank, thanks for jumping in. I'm not the too good at mechanical/electrical stuff, so look at this a coaching. Killing batteries means the batteries don't last long. I don't believe they are charging when the 1650 is running. What next? Eric

Hey Folks, Been a long time since I've been here. Maybe a year. Started my own business and that has been keeping me pretty busy. In the mean time my 1650 has been sitting idle with a couple problems I haven't had time to deal with. Anyway. One problem I got figured out. Did you know that...

Greetings! Been a while since I've spent time here. Not working on the tractor much during the winter and not using it much until this past weekend when we got a few inches of snow. Question: When and why would I want to use the snow blade set up so that it will trip down? Eric

Greetings! I finally got around to taking the carb a part on my 1650. Wanted to get the parts for a rebuild before I took it apart. Couple questions: 1. Do I actually have to buy a metric nut driver to remove the jet? 2. I found a small piece of gasket - think smaller than a blade of...

Hey Guys, Thanks for the info on throttle setting and bolts for starter. And I thought a bolt was a bolt. After I get parts its on to the carb rebuild. Gas is just shy of flowing out of carb and tractor won't even start at this point.

Hi Guys, I found out why the starter wasn't working. Took off the side panel to checks starter connections. The thing was loose with one mounting bolt sheered off. The bolt still attached seemed to be tightened all the way and yet there was a gap between the head of the bolt and the starter...

Good Morning! The starter I installed works fine with cold start. After running the tractor a while the Bendix does not want to engage. Could it be that I am losing electrical power somewhere when the tractor is warm but not when it is cold? Or, could it be that this tractor eats starters...

Evening Folks, Thought I had posted this, but can't find it now. Sorry if it is a double post. The gremlins seem to have moved to my carb. I have gas leaking out the orifice on the bottom side of the air intake. I'm thinking its a needle or float. Perhaps its time for a carb rebuild, but...

Greeting! Just a quick Sunday afternoon thanks to all who have helped introduce me to the Cub hobbie. After advice from last set of tractor quirks I tightened the friction washer on the hydro, converted the after market throttle handle - non adjustable tension - to adjustable, adjusted the...

Hey Guys, Thanks for explaining the starter motor and for suggestions on getting it running. With the weather we are having in northern Wisconsin, the next time I use the tractor may be to mow grass in mid February. Rain and a relatively mild breeze this morning.
