My question is,I've got a real nice super clean 1864,with 46" cut.I also have now, JD 420 with 60" cut. Both of them have snow blades.I just overhauled the JD last week, and it has a very strong engine and very good tires Ags or on the rear.It is yr 91 and I don't know what yr the cub is,but the cub has 500hrs and JD has 1500hrs.Which would you keep.THX Alot!

Well the cooler of the two would be the Cub, hands down.
So why are you having to make the decision on which one to keep?
Just keep'um both!

This is a Cub Site so they are going to tell you to keep the cub. However, I won't. The 420 Deere is twice the tractor an 1864 is. Even if you have to rebuild or replace the engine I feel it is a much better all around unit. Much more "Useful" IMHO. There are a lot of good attachments for it and it is a heavy beast.

Flaming may now commence.
