This ol beast was sitting outside for years. I cleaned the carburator and gas tank. It also had some rusty posts on the ignition switch. It started up and I drove it around. It was $50 and included these heavy wheel weights. I took the headlights off and have them disassembled, sand blasted and ready for paint.

Edward-

I agree, neat find. It appears to have a very involved pto system with a belt, tensioning idler and all. It also appears to have the old down draft carb too.

Be sure to post more pics when she's up and running/operating well.

Edward, I'll third it, very nice find and rescue! And for $50, you bought one wheel weight and got a second weight and a tractor for free.

I felt sort of guilty about the guy saying $50 and throwing the weights in also. When I got back with the trailer about 40 minutes later I gave him $65 instead. I sand blasted and painted the gas tank and the 2 side pieces to see what it might look like cleaned up. The engine is a Briggs with a magneto. These tractors were made by Gilson.

I picked up a second 70 wards hydro 14, Thursday afternoon in Yacolt, Wa. It was on the Portland Or craigslist for $100. That other thing in the picture is a 68 Simplicity 3012

Sweet finds, Edward. It's good to see you rescuing those tractors.
