Hydro / Charlie

Well I'm DEFINITELY gonna "figure" something out,
coffee.gif

And as you are well aware as soon as I get started on it,,, there will be a hundred or so pics of how I transformed the hacked 1250 handle into a "Correct" 149 lift handle,,,, \clipart {great big oLe happy face}
happy.gif

Under Edit,,,

Yep just checked, The ql is longer than 149 handle,
thumbsup.gif

Double Under Edit,,,,

Is it just the camera "angle" of your pic, or is the handle supposed to be 90* bend???

309495.jpg

309496.jpg

Triple Under Edit,,,
I'm sure!!!!
I copied your pic and tried to re-post and got "error" image exceeded maximum allowable size,,, I had to shrink "Your" image so I could post it,,, I guess the general public is restricted to 100kb file size,,, that's not fair!!!

I angled the camera so I could show both ends at the same time.
I'll use a square next time,

Both handles in the pic are NOS pieces.

Jason - hope this isn't to late. When you order the handle ALSO make sure you get a brand spanking new roll pin 1/8"x 1". (Charlie shows it a couple lines below the handle listing on his site). This little pin is bent and loose 99% of the time so if you're putting in a new handle make sure you get this pin too.

And for that matter if you haven't placed your order yet I recommend you get a good look at the entire set up for all the handle connections, chain link, etc. Who ever put that "Cue-ball" knob on your unit may have also made some other changes that you might need to correct.

I have a question, If a key switch has a safety prong on it, can it still start without having the safety part that goes from the pto etc there? I'm needing to know this since I have mounted my command to my 149 but still need to the wiring on it. Can I use the key switch from the 149 or will I have to buy one for a quietline? Thanks Austin!

And it's not even Off Topic Friday!

If all goes well, I plan on making a temporary'1400' with my 1200. Pull the engine from #2-1450 and use in 1200 until I rebuild the k301. With all the projects I may just part that one(1450), I have 2 and that one is rough looking. you have only full forward or full reverse, needs trunion repair badly. But then again I might just take it apart for storing, then put it back together again someday with a full resto.
That's the idea. I prefer using a skid loader to pop the bead....

Jason - you said "valve on 149 is bolted to side of dash tower" - AND THAT's exactly where it should be. Don't get any ideas of moving it to the steering column like the location on your 1250. It'll just be in the way if you need to get at the wiring connections, or you decide you need to remove your steering column for some reason.

My 149 project is going great, since i got the rear back on, I started to look at my engine which is a command pro 20, made for cub cadet. Had to get a engine plate. Then I had to re drill the holes on a mill. Now I just got to wait for the other student in the class to get his ford diesel out of the shop so, i can get back to mounting the engine
err.gif
I will get you guys some pictures of it then post them in the custom cub cadet forum. I really think its going to be fun project as soon as I finish the wiring on the command pro. which looks like a big mess hah

Ok, I am new to this site, new to IH Cub Cadet tractors, and brand new to my 782 Hydro, model 144784100, serial# 2050601U729306. I was told that the engine is only 4 years old with only about 45 hours. I know it needs new blades, so I believe that is job #1. However, I know nothing about this tractor, the 50" deck, or the size/length of blades. Would someone help get me started? Maybe some basic info, where to find the correct manuals, etc.

Thank you all in advance.
Randy in Florence, SC

Randy welcome!!
There are down loadable manuals on this site, or check out a sponsor binder books. Very reasonable.
Also check out cc specialties, Charlie will definitely have what you need.

Kraig-

If you're not too busy today could you post a pic of the underside of a 38" 3 spindle mowing deck? I'm replacing the baffles and have very little to go on to get it close to factory. I checked the parts look up and it just shows the top side (unless I'm doing something wrong).

Or...if someone has a 38" deck leaning up somewhere and can take a pic of the underside that would be great.

Thanks in advance!

.

Wayne S.
Which 38" deck?
That covers a lot of territory ya know.
