Dbarnett, Eastwood I'm sure offers the 2k in rattle can as well. IMHO almost any 2k automotive paint is better than IH enamel.

Now how about the rest of the story Charlie? How did you end up with 2 pics of the same hitch but 1 has washers stacked to the ceiling?

Charlie, I did a bunch of skip reading 'till I got to the Cub article so I may have missed some info. Was this man a friend, relative, or just an article you found.?

I'm thinking the ends unscrew out of the tube but do not want to force the issue. Should I let the rebuilder deal with it as it's going to have to have a new rod at least??

David,
I'm not an expert on them, but I'm pretty sure I saw that they are welded on both ends and you need to cut them and re-weld them.
