Norm on my 782 sn 704539, the holes are 0.5"in the lift arm & the lockout pin is in the back hole of the arm. Looks like the welded nut is a way to lock the rockshaft to the lift arm with a 0.5" cap screw. sn 678912 uses different cylinder. What's your 782 sn?

Correction...782 sn678912 uses different cylinder pin than > sn678913

I want to thank you for helping me understand two terms that I see bantered about a lot:

1. Rock Shaft and
2. Float Lockout Pin.

It was not until I read Norm's posts and looked at his pictures (as well as Matt's very edifying sketch) that I understood how the pieces
went together.

Moral: Just as there is no such thing as a stupid question, there is no such thing as a useless post.

Or at least that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

Sorry guys, I just found out these postings were over here.

Paul,

Mine is a 682, s/n 671719, that I'm turning into a 782.
I got some good info from Matt and made the decision to bush the cylinder rod, 3/8" ID to 1/2" OD, and use a 3/8" pin. What Matt & I have determined is evidently IH had the 1/2" dia. and CC went to 3/8".
