    The wife

Hope your wife is doing well. Those who give you a hard time need an education. A tubal or ectopic pregnancy is not a viable pregnancy. If left untreated the patients tube can rupture and many bad things can happen. The only treatment is removing the pregnancy via medicines or surgery. My...

Dave, Sorry to hear the 800 didn't pan out. You'll find another one. Sounds like it was missing all the hard to find parts. That isn't the one that was on the Southeast Iowa Craigslist was it? If it was, the one pic showed the butchered frame and bigger starter and the other showed the...

Dave, Unfortunately, the 800 specific parts are near impossible to find and pricey if they are found. The air cleaner, muffler, starter, and the aluminum shield that bolts to motor where the muffler box attaches are 800 specific. The actual muffler box is the same as the other quietlines...

Norm, That looks like a Johnson Loader, maybe a model 10. I used to have one on a 129 that came with the wideframe subframe and the pump ran off the back of the engine. Hard to tell in the pics if it has a subframe with it or a hydraulic pump. Got any more pics???

Charles, In the 1X8/1X9 series, the 8 stands for gear drive, the 9 stands for hydro, not the ninth one in the 10 horse series. The 109 is 10 horse hydro, 108 10 horse gear drive, 129 12 horse hydro, 128 12 horse gear drive, etc.

Tom, Nice find on the 800! That looks like the one that's been on Chicago CL for a while. Does it have a cyclops headlight? Got any pics of how they mounted the blade. From the other pics I saw, it looked like they had welded to the front frame. She looks to be in great shape. Congrats on...

Paul, The one in Iowa, is that the same one that was on EPay roughly around six months ago? I remember the one on the auction site and it brought up some great discussion. It was located in Iowa on an O and was pretty rough looking. Just curious if that was the same one.

Wayne, I would see if the original engine is laying around. That would be awesome if it were! There are K181's around, but what makes the 86's motor hard to find is the crank. Other 8 horses would have too short of a crank and the PTO wouldn't line up. An 86 is still a lower production...

Yepper, Kraig's right. The 86 had a longer crank to move the PTO forward to clear the axle and line up with the mule drive pulleys. The K241 replacement shouldn't be a problem. The 86's are harder to find. $4-500 seems awfully steep missing the original 8 horse thats hard to find and second...

Justin, The tillers didn't have tension pulleys. The belt goes from the large pulley to the pulley on the gearbox. You tighten the belt by turning the handle right above the large pulley in your pic (silver in pic).

Ryan, Nice 128! Looks to be in great shape. Low and behold, do I see a rear PTO sticking out the back?????

Norm, Just use the gasket without sealer. The RTV sealant likes to break loose and get caught in things, especially if it's a hydro. Not a good combo. Should seal up fine.

Frank C. You call that a minor tuneup on the 125. I'd hate to see a major one .

Michael Ross, I was talking about the rod running from the lift arm to the plow. Kraig's also right about the cam stopping the travel. Hydro Harry, That 169 numbers are as follows: Tractor Serial Number: 529194 Engine Serial Number: 6341849/ 13 Fin Model Number: K341A Spec Number...

Michael, Is your lift rod too short and not letting the plow go all the way down. Unhook it from the lift arm and see if that helps. Otherwise, something may be bent or sprung????

To add to the 13 fin thing. My cousin's 169 has a 13 fin Kohler K341, original engine with the flattened boss without being drilled out. Serial number 529194 so close to the end of the line. Interesting posts. Keep em coming.
