    okay, so i used some pb blaster on the nut holding the crankshaft bolt and used a 15/16 socket to try and loosen it up, but no such luck. The bolt on the crank i noticed has notches in it. What are these for?

    torque wrench is also a big fail. I made a new slot tight enough for it to grip into, bolts dont even move at all, i used pb blaster, heated. Nothing is working, and im running out of time.

    just spoke with a guy who has a massive collection of cub cadets. He has a ih 1250 hydro parted out in his shed, with plow, and a blade for the back of it. It is parted out, how much should i ask for it? The fenders are mia. I was thinking $300?

    Ok since the cub is sitting I'm garage/shed and my dad has a Torch in his garage which is like 2 miles away I am going to try the plain old torch. If that doesn't work I will attempt to load it up onto the truck and take it too the garage. Thanks

    i have tried the impact wrench, screwdrivers, and even loosening the bolts which are welded. The screws are so badly rusted/stripped My next step is probably just to cut the bolt of and go with all new screws/bolts. But however i do like the way cub cadet welds the bolts fast to the metal.

    what kind of paint should i use to do the cub cadet? The local hardware store has john deere yellow and sunburst yellow rustoleum. Any other types i should look for.

    Kraig, I finally got the lock bearing off. My dad lent me his from his garage, it took even over 30-60 minutes with the jaw till it would finally budge. It is now off, and the pto clutch pulley fits on great!! Now I'm ready to do a total restore.

    I am looking at a belt size for the IH cub cadet 86, i would like to know the size of the pto belt that runs from the pto pulley to the deck. ALso how can i tighten the brakes on my cadet?

    -where exactly is the serial number located on an IH cub cadet 86? I haven't yet found one while looking over the whole tractor?? -Also how do you tighten the brakes on an 86 mine are very loose and it doesn't stop on a dime like it should. Thanks

    dawis, Kraig I asked my dad who is a mechanic and he says he has a 3 jaw puller so im going to try until the thing comes off, lets hope it works, then its onto restoration for the 86.

    Kraig, I see you have my pictures posted. I took the picture before it was moved of the crank by 1/2". When I say that I mean the pulley that runs the drive system behind the PTO basket is off 1/2" would you if you can see it on this picture point out where the punch was to go so I know I hit it...
