I need a new starter and have heard the high torque ones are the way to go. Any recommendations on the right one and best place? I just want to make sure I’m getting the right starter. Thanks for any assistance.

Since the starter key switches on the diesels have a lot of current running through them, I would replace it with an OEM Kubota switch. After I replaced the starter on my 782D with one of these gear reduction units, I would still have an intermittent no crank condition. I checked all grounds, and connections, and they were clean. I then figured the presumably original key switch had dirty internal contacts. Once I replaced that switch, I never had another issue with it.

I do not know what's on your engine bit the Denso Starters, that are in many 'bota engines have very simple rebuild kits. Comes with plunger and two Contacts. These parts are the main source of failure.
