What are the right colors for (in a spray bomb) for a Cub 1782? I picked one up this weekend that runs great but need a little help with the paint. Does Rustoleum offer it? What does everyelse use?

Same thing on this thread too, grin
Bradley B,

Unless you are going to get techincally accurate in a restoration, ACE School Bus Yellow is as good a match as you can find for the CC yellow. Yes, I know there were several variants on the yellow through the years, but the ACE School Bus Yellow does fade to blend in with whatever yellow you might have. I have used it on an IH 126 and a 169. Looks good. I clean the surface of all contaminants, spray it on in thin light coats, until it covers fully, and let it dry to the touch. Then I take ACE clear lacquer and spray over it - in thin light coats. The lacquer seals it off from petroleum products, so it won't run or streak. Works great.

Forgot to post yesterday that the ACE School Bus Yellow paint also matches the newer CC LT1018. I have used it to keep the deck neat and clean looking on my LT1018. Can't speak enough for the ACE paints. They are generous sized, have adjustable fan pattern sray nozzles, and the paint contains rust inhibitors. Great value. Outstanding Paint. But don't forget, overspray the enamel based paint with clear lacquer when it is dry to the touch, in very light, thin coats. this gives the color a hard protective coating and makes it almost impervious to fuel spills, oil, and other petroleum product spills.

I am trying to get the proper yellow and white paint codes for a 1989 1872. I know there is a chart on this site but it only goes up to 1981. I also called several of the venders on this site and got conflicting info. I am not sure why it is so dificult to get this info but so far I do not have a definative answer. I am not looking for other brand close matches I am trying to get OEM codes.
