I have the opportunity to buy a 122 with mower and garden cart from the original owner. The tractor has not been run in years and I can get it for $150.00
Is this a good deal for the tractor? Im new to Cub Cadets but they keep falling into my lap.

James.
That all depends on if you have $150 you can part with.
Oh by the way a 122 is a garden tractor.

I have the money but am wondering if it is a good buy for the money?

This really depends on personal preference. I, for one, would not spend $150 on non-running 122 unless it had some optional equipment such as lights, creeper, weights, 3pt, etc. but that's just me. I'd rather have a 782 or something along those lines, but if it's what you're looking for, go for it. Nobody's stopping you.

Has the 122 been stored inside or has it set outside.
Chances are if it has been inside, new gas, new oil, maybe a carb. overhaul, you could have a good cub that might last another 20 years.
I sure would take the chance.

James, if Cadets keep falling into your lap, let me know!!! I'm shopping. -Brian.

James,I think If I had the $$ to spear--Yes--I'd Jump on it for that! Brother had a 122 give to him that had set for yrs In a building that had fell down around it---Pulled it out--cleaned it up a little--Dang thing started right up! Running good to this day for him!
