I have a nearly new MTD version; the super LT1550.
Trying to do my initial maintenance, and I find that the center spindle hub will not take grease.
Automotive zerk fittings can be unscrewed and replaced with a wrench. I can't see any hex fitting at the base of these.
The Web Site suggests that some hubs don't even have grease fittings and that the grease is really just to keep water out; the bearings are sealed.
Any comments would be welcome.

If there's no hex fitting then they're the style that you press in. You should be able to pull it out with a pair of vise-grips and gently tap in a new one. Deck bearings shouldn't be sealed and need to be greased.

Try heating up the fitting a little (be carefull no outside grease ignites)

James - Call the dealer and tell them the problem, that is what a thing called WARRANTY is for ;)
