I have owned this tractor (1997 model year) for 4 months. In the past 3 weeks the hard start problem has occurred.
One day the kids could not start the tractor after mowing. Then, a week later it had a hesitation for a few minutes while I was driving. Then, another week later it took me 1/2 hour of tinkering before it would run, 15 minutes of mowing and then it stopped.
It has spark, compression, great cranking speed, and fuel will run out of the fuel line by the carb when the key is on. My dealer thinks it may be a solenoid that is on the carb.
